Mt.Fuji, world-famous peak

The city of Numazu is situated in eastern
Shizuoka Prefecture, no more than 100 kilometers apart from Tokyo, the
capital city of Japan.Numazu has such geographical advantages, and is
blessed with an excellent natural environment.The city has played its
key part in administrative affairs, economic and cultural activities
since olden days in the whole area; it has been growing steadily in
importance as the traffic, commercial and cultural center of the
eastern part of Shizuoka.
Numazu is also blessed with an abundance of scenic attractions
including Mount Fuji, beautifully viewable with the Surugawan bay in
between, verdant Sembon-matsubara area, Kanukiyama hill and Kanogawa
river flowing through the city. Favored by these natural benefits, the
city and its environs have produced many persons of culture and others.

such as fishery, agriculture, tourism, commerce and high-technology,

Senbon Matsubara
The beach line extends 10km and has been selected as one of the most
beautiful scenes (100). These pine trees were replanted by a famous
priest (Zoyo Syonin) after those had been cut off by the war between
the Takeda and Hojyo clans, almost 400 years ago.

Numazu Port Large Water Gate with
Observatory "View-o"
The largest water gate in Japan built by Shizuoka, Prefecture was
designed to prevent Tsunami. From the top of the water gate, 30m high,
you can enjoy the panorama view of Mt. Fuji and Suruga Bay.
The gate is always lightened up.
Open hours:
10:00-21:00 hours weekdays except Tue.
Admission Fee: 100yen for an
adult, 50yen for a child

Numazu Imperial Villa Memorial Park
The villa built in 1893 has been used by the Imperial families from
Meiji to Showa emperor days. It was refined and reopened in 1969 since
it had been abandoned by them.
Through the beautiful park and the old architectural houses, you can
see how the imperial families lived.

Ose Peninsula
A small peninsula in Suruga bay, most well-known since long ago, where
you can view Mt. Fuji.

Mihama Peninsula
The peninsula extended from Heda Port is also crowded with many
swimmers in summer. Of course, Mt.Fuji can be seen as many beautiful
seasonal flowers in the Park.

Ichinoyu Hot Spring
The public hot-spring called Ichinoyu was discovered in 1986. Its hot
water is drinkable and good for skin diseases and neuralgia. There is a
stand where you enjoy the water with ease.
