Shizuoka Prefecture’s Friendship Provinces

Since the 2010 fiscal year (April 2010 to March 2011), Shizuoka Prefecture has harnessed the power of its industry, culture, and nature to take the previously perfunctory field of international exchange a step further. In accordance with the fundamental principles outlined below, Shizuoka’s regional diplomacy applies the prefecture’s unique assets in a mutually advantageous manner across a wide range of fields, including industry, education, culture, tourism, and emergency preparedness. By promoting exchange through this policy of shared advantage, Shizuoka Prefecture is aiming to become an important region in the global arena.
