DISASTER PREPAREDNESS

Check your neighborhood’s evacuation area!

Each neighborhood has pre-designated evacuation area, such as parks, elementary schools and junior high schools.

Make sure where your household members will reunite in the time of a disaster. When a disaster occurs, cell phones will most likely be inoperable. It is important to pre-appoint the specific area of gathering with your household members, such as “Under the tree in the playground of ●●● elementary school”.

Be prepared for disaster!

It is essential to “bolt big pieces of furniture to the wall” and “stock at least a three-day supply of drinking water and non-perishable food”.

You should also prepare a “Go Bag”; a collection of items you may need in the event of an evacuation such as emergency food and water for more than three days, a redio, flashlight and extra batteries, rain gear, underwear and clothes.

Do you know “SIPOS RADAR”?

Shizuoka Prefecture set up the website called “SAIPOS RADAR”, which offers you current data of the water level of rivers, rainfall level, and the weather information which regards a disaster in Shizuoka Prefecture.
