Survey of Overseas Shizuoka Companies and Export & Import of Shizuoka

 

1. Overseas Activities of Shizuoka Companies

In order to understand the overseas activities of Shizuoka-based companies, we sent questionnaires to 1,237 companies and received 761 answers. Based on this survey, 395 Shizuoka-based companies have 1,285 overseas branches as of April 1, 2008. Compared to the previous year, 2 companies decreased, and 21 branches increased. With regard to region, Asia includes 848 branches and account for more than 60% of the total.

 

2. Import & Export of Shizuoka Prefecture

In order to know the circumstances of import and export of Shizuoka, we sent questionnaires to 1,237 companies and received 589 answers. According to this survey, 408 companies (69.3%) were involved in import and export in 2007. Regarding the location of partners, Asia accounts for 69.1%, followed by Europe (15.3%), and the third is the US (13.4%).
