The growth industries that will lead Japan in the coming age are beginning to stir first of all in Shizuoka Prefecture. Utilizing regional resources and its characteristic industrial base, the prefecture is promoting the Shizuoka Triangle Research Cluster Development: Pharma Valley, Food Science Hills, and Photon Valley. World-class research results are emerging from this cluster one after the other. As well as promoting collaboration among the three clusters and also between this project and other regions in Japan and around the world, Shizuoka has established organizations to promote commercialization of the research results at each cluster.
