Shimizu Station

An east-west passageway has been built in the JR Shimizu Station, giving users access to the station’s harbor side without having to walk through the station. The added event square and lawn area serve as a relaxing spot for local residents.

The passageway entrance has stairs, an escalator and elevator.	The wide passageway has handrails and a ridged guide path for the visually impaired.
Barriers at disabled-access pickup points have been minimized.	Tables, chairs and benches meet a wide variety of needs.
Benches have long handles and handrails for easy grasping.	Three restrooms have been provided—a multifunctional restroom for ostomates and standard men’s and women’s restrooms.
