Shizuoka prefecture defines universal design as " Shizuoka with Comfortable Space " where both residents and visitors feel pleasant. In the future, the prefecture is going to adopt this concept for Shizuoka's various projects.
The prefecture, however, cannot promote universal design alone. It is inevitable that municipalities, businesses and the people of Shizuoka prefecture cooperate in the promotion of universal design. Universal design is for everyone and everyone should practice it.
We would like to hear your comments and questions regarding universal design. So please write to us.

Special projects will be developed in order to promote policies based on the idea of universal design systematically and premeditatedly.
Besides the above- mentioned promotion, we practice universal design in every field of the prefectural government.
